Product: HP Laptop 245 G5
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone! I'm looking to upgrade the HDD that came with my laptop to an SSD, mostly to improve performance. I've read that with laptops sometimes only certain types of SSD are supported. If possible, I'd like to learn if swapping my HDD for an SSD is feasible and if so which models or types are supported.

My laptop is a 245 G5 and has the following specs:

Product number: z7y54la#abm

Processor: AMD A8-7410 APU / AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.20 GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 8.0 GB

Hard Drive Interface: SATA

OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

The current HDD is a 1TB model, not sure about the brand or model but it's the one that came with the laptop.

Thanks in advance!

@GarciV23,

You can replace the current 2.5" hard drive with a faster 2.5" SATA SSD like this one.

Your service manual shows hard drive replacement procedures on pages 32-33.
