HP Spectre X360 i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD

Hello!

I'm loving my Spectre laptop, but I would like it to be capable of handling a bit more software at a given time (I'm a musician and work with software like Pro Tools, Finale, a variety of Plugin softwares). I'm no hardware expert, but I've seen some articles saying it's possible to bump the RAM up to 32GB, are there other upgrades I can make? Anything that could improve the processing, an improved SSD would be nice but isn't necessary because I utilize multiple external drives, possibly an improved graphics card for light gaming, etc. Any suggestions are most welcome!

Before I can have some comments, I need to know what EXACTLY is your Spectre X360 since there are few generations and hundreds of models/products called Spectre X360 machines.

Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).

Regards.

The Product Number is 6KD36UA#ABA, does that answer your question?

Your machine is an HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0053dx, which is available in the US and its specs

     https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06296486

 Its manual:

      http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06155404.pdf

  1. For RAM: Page 1 says it supports 16GB 2400 DDR4 and RAM is on board (means soldered to the system board) therefore you CAN'T upgrade
  2. For Storage: as you can see, the series has option with  2-TB, 2280, peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe)-3×4, non-volatile memory express (NVMe), DS solid-state drive with triple-level cell (TLC) therefore you can replace 512GB with 1TB or 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD such as Samsung 970EVO series or Crucial P1 serires ....
  3. Video card: No. Video (iGPU and dGPU), CPU, Operating system and RAM are all on one physical unit called System board and changeling it means buying a new machine.

My final say: You can ONLY replace 512GB SSD.

Regards.

Thank you for your help Banhien. Just to clarify, I couldn't upgrade the RAM even if I had it re-soldered?

The series supports 16GB max (as from manual) and your machine already has 16GB as from its specs.
