Hey everyone,
I am a college student taking some technical classes, and frankly my ability to render 3D objects, run virtual machines and when I want to, do some gaming here and there with this notebook... It is less than desirable and often frustrating. I would like to know if my model has upgradable RAM slots. It currently has 8GB RAM and I would like to expand it to 16GB RAM at least, in addition to that, I would like to add a decent graphics card too. I dont think I can afford to buy a new laptop. Not trying to run Frostbite games or anything super graphicy, I just want to be able to run stuff smoothly without it destroying my computer.
Oh and can I replace the crap wifi card? I get like 1 bar and super slow speeds with the factory card so I bought an adapter that is plugged in an external port (which is amazing but I want something built in)
Thanks!

1. Firstly for RAM: you can upgrade to 16GB (2 x 8GB) using RAM from Crucial or similar. You can use DDR4 2400MHz RAM but machine will run at 2133MHz.
2. For graphics card: No, your machine has Integrated Intel® HD Graphics 620 (up to 4.07 GB) chip which is noy upgradable without buying new system board with new CPU (if available) and few other things including new Windows license.
In general, we CAN'T upgrade video cards on nearly 100% of normal consumer notebooks.
Regards.

@Banhien
Thank you for your prompt reply! I am happy to hear that. From my humble collection of memories from my hardware technician class, the running at 2133MHz, would that be "overclocking" my Notebook?
How would I go about installing the additional RAM for my specific model? I tried looking for official HP guides for my model but it seems like HP doesn't like to advertise the idea of upgrading hardware for their notebooks, specifically mine (To protect the consumer I would wager).
Thanks!
