I have this laptop and I am looking forward to install a M.2 SSD in it as the one it brought isn't large neither fast enough for my needs.
A friend of mine is giving me away a Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2, is it anyway compatible with mi laptop?, I mean even if I have to use some adapter I would prefer installing this one. I've read that MVMe M.2 is a bit new, but I bought this laptop past January and I guess it should be able to handle it.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I checked the specifications of your computer and see that your computer has support for M.2 port so you can go ahead and install the SSD on the computer.
Please refer to the below service guide for your computer for more information.

Thanks for the quick answer, @The_Fossette
I've already gone trough the service guide of my laptop but I don't find it clear enough. It says:
- You can install an M.2 solid-state drive into the hard drive bay using an adapter bracket and connector board.
What is 'adapter bracket and connector board' suposed to be?. I've tried searching for it on Amazon with no luck.
Also, the service guide only says "m.2', but it doesn't specify wich types are supported, as I said (and because is a quite new hardware) I'm wishing to use an m.2 NVMe Samsung EVO 970 on it.
Thanks again, maybe later I will try and dissasembly my laptop to get a better idea.

You can install an M.2 solid-state drive into the hard drive by using an adapter bracket and connector board.
Click on this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257 and check page 55 and 56 on the service manual.
I have sent you a private message, to contact HP Phone support depending on the product for the further course of action that cannot be shared in a public post.
Can you please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
Have a great day!

Hi Raj1788, I've read your PM and try contacting HP.
Anyway, while waiting for them to contact me I wen to take a look inside my laptop.
This is what I found out:
01-General view. We can see my actual 256 GB 2.5' SSD.
02-Zoom A. A closer look to the SSD, and we can see there's actually place for pluggin an m.2 ssd, but the NVMe m.2 key is exactly the opposite as this one, so I guess is not compatible.
03-Zoom A (taking out the SSD). Here we can get a clear view of the SATA connector board.
04-Zoom B. Finally, I get this is the pieze I need to change. Doesn't look tricky at all, but what is the name of the pieze I should buy?, and is anybody sure that changing it will allow me to use an NVMe m.2 SSD, or isn't it compatible neither using a new connection board?
Thanks again, I hope I can get the final solution for this, and maybe anyone find this usefull in the future.
