Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was wondering on what possible processors I could replace my intel i7-5500u with. If a new motherboard is needed to replace it with the new chip, then so be it. Mt laptop is factory stock, with the 16gb RAM, 1tb SSD, and the NVIDIA GeForce. I would just like to have a little stronger cpu, and perferably a 4 core, or maybe even a 6 core if possible. Perfered range of 3.0ghz or higher.

I also saw that some envy laptops can support up to 2 HDD/SSD. If my laptop is able to support that as well, that would be much appreciated.

Hi,

The following link shows specs of your machine

I don't know where 1tb SSD comes from. This series has many laptops and motherboards

Intel Core i7-5500U processor 940M 2 GB 813681-xxx
Intel Core i7-5200U discrete processor 940M 2 GB 813680-xxx
Intel Core i7-5500U processor 950M 2 GB 813682–xxx
Intel Core i5-6200U processor 940M 2 GB 829065-xx1
Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor 950M 4 GB 829066-xx1
Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor 950M 4 GB 3D camera 829068-xx1
Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor 940M 4 GB 3D camera 829069-xx1
Intel Core i7-6500U processor 940M 2 GB 829070-xx1
Intel Core i7-6500U processor 940M 2 GB 3D camera 837769-xx1

The cost to replace motherboard plus CPU would be very high.  For a second HDD, please check available part on the following link:

    https://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=573&zenid=604f...

If no available part, most likely you can't upgrade

Regards.
