Hi.

I would like to upgrade my laptop with a LTE module. I have found some posts on the internet stating that we can purchase a compatible modem and obtain the SIM card tray from HP support.

Is it still possible to obtain the needed parts?

I believe machine has SIM card slot on the left hand side already (as indicated on page 5 of its manual). All you need is a WWAN card. The series supports

  • Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X12, with LTE-Advanced CAT 9
  • Intel® XMM™ 7360 LTE, with LTE Advanced CAT9
  • HP lt4132 LTE/HSPA+ 4G Mobile Broadband Module

But HP only gives part number for

      HP It4132 LTE/HSPA+ 4G with GPS M.2 WWAN module  part #   L29292-800

You may also need antenna for WWAN card and use page 42 of the manual to connect properly.

Regards.

I will look into the cards you have mentioned, thank you.

Also, the required hardware appears to be inplace.

Antennas and sim slot are present.

Except that the sim slot is filled with a Blank, there is no tray to place and secure the sim card.
