HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000i
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello

I have a question about upgrading my pc:s GPU.

I currently have NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and my pc is HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01 and I wanted ask if RTX 4070 Ti would fit in my pc? Or are there any other GPUs that would fit in my pc and could run modern game more smoothly without hiccups? 3060 is starting to become slow and low fps when playing newer games and I want to upgrade it to better but I'm unsure would newer GPUs fit and work.

Helo would be greatly appreciated!

@Wumbaaaa,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000i appears to be fitted with a Stark motherboard (SSID: 8860) -please verify.

I assume you got an HP-branded (OEM) RTX 3060 Ti, most likely paired with a 500-watt power supply with p/n: L81009-800 (L77487-001) "Power Supply - 500W WS20 FR Gold" -please verify.  I know of no power supply upgrade beyond the 500-watt PSU.

An RTX 4070 Ti has a 285-watt TDP and requires at least a 600-watt power supply, so that probably wouldn't be a good match.

However, an RTX 4070 has a 200-watt TDP (same as an RTX 3060 Ti), and likely would be able to be powered by your 500-watt power supply. In terms of size, I would recommend one of the smaller-sized RTX 4070 cards, such as this model or this model.

An RTX 4070 blows the RTX 3060 Ti out of the water: UserBenchmark: Nvidia RTX 3060-Ti vs 4070.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
