I want to upgrade the storage and RAM on this laptop but I can't find any motherboard specs. Can somebody tell me:
1. Is the M2 storage gen 3 or 4 ?
2. Do all M2's fit or is there a size limit (both physical dimensions or storage space)?
3. Is the RAM DDR4 and what speeds are compatible ?
4. Is there a RAM size limit ?

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP 14 Laptop PC
Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.
According to the manual, notebooks with the Intel® Pentium® Gold 5405U processors have two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 memory that runs at 2133 MHz.
HP offered M.2 SSD's up to 512 GB in the model series.
The form factor of the M.2 SSD is 2280.
If your notebook came with a M.2 NVMe SSD, the slot is PCIe Gen 3.

You're very welcome.
Generally, 16 GB of memory is enough for most folks, but you can check to see if your notebook can support more than 16 GB of memory by doing this:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
