I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6195us Notebook computer, and I am wondering the following:
(1) Can I upgrade the processor to a faster processor? If so, can I just replace the processor, or do I have to replace the system board? What are my options? Also, if I can upgrade the system board, what are my options?
(2) This Notebook came with two 500GB HDs, and they need to be replaced. Can I place with one 1TB HD?
Any assistance you can provide would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Page 29 list the top Intel quad core processor you can replace with for your current quad core processor: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842278
Intel Quad Core i7-2820QM: part number 634694-001
You might get a slight boost in performance: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-2820QM-vs-Intel-Core-i7-2630QM/m3145vs2729
Currently you have motherboard compatible with Intel quad core and 1gb discrete graphics. There is a 2gb discrete graphic supported one. But considering the cost of part, labour cost etc. I'll strongly suggest you get a new laptop with much much better specs and similar pricing.
You could definitely keep a 1TB HDD instead of a 500gb.
