Hi There
I have a HP Probook 4530s with following specs
i3 Processor
8 GB of RAM
64 Bit Operating system
I would like to upgrade the the processor to I7 and the harddrive to SSD. Please advise what products are required and where i Can purchase? Also is it possible to upgrade tghe RAM to 16GB (what is required)
I assume that if I keep the current RAM but upgrade the Processor and Harddrive there be no issue with the current 8GB of Ram?
Regards
Purdy

Hi,
If we look on page 97 of service manual we can see that these are the i7 CPUs you can upgrade to:
Intel Core i7 processor, Quad Core
2670QM, 2.2-GHz (turbo up to 3.1-GHz) processor with 6-MB L3 cache 665116-001
2630QM, 2.00-GHz (turbo up to 2.90) processor with 6-MB L3 cache 635501-001
Intel Core i7 processor, Dual Core
2620M, 2.7-GHz (turbo up to 3.4-GHz) processor with 4-MB L3 cache 631252-001
You can perform an online search with part number:
Example:
https://www.impactcomputers.com/665116-001.html
http://www.memory4less.com/hp-2-20ghz-core-i7-mobile-processor-665116-001
You can also see the steps on page 98 of service manual on how to upgrade the CPU. Remember to replace any thermal paste and thermal pad with quality material.
You can replace the internal hard drive with an SSD which will increase everyday performance of the PC. You need a 2.5" Sata III SSD and can choose your prefered brand such as the Samsung 850 evo. You will need to reinstall the OS by either using HP recovery disks, cloning the old hard drive to new one or using Microsoft media.
On page 52-53 of service manual you can see how to replace the drive.
The max memory for your system is 8GB of PC3-10600, 1333-MHz, DDR3 RAM. So, you have already reached the limit. There will be no problem leaving the the 8GB of RAM with new CPU and SSD.

You can also look at these HP videos for that model which can help with any upgrade:
