Welcome to HP Support Forum. My understanding is you wish to upgrade CPU and wireless card

1. CPU : Yes, you can upgrade CPU and 3840QM is on the list

      Intel Quad Core i7-3740QM 2.70-GHz processor (SC turbo up to 3.70-GHz; 1600- MHz FSB, 6.0-MB L3 cache, 45 W) Part # 702840-001

Page 86 of the following manual shows you how to replace the processor (CPU):

            http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03591253.pdf

2. Wireless card: Your machine was built long time before mid 2014 therefore the chance to upgrade wireless card is from slim to none. Page 57 of the manual shows you part numbers of supported wireless cards.

Regards.

Talking about upgrades i see that my laptop supports a mSata Card. Is there a particular one i should look at purchasing? I am hopping to upgrade to a 256 GB card.
