Pavilion Power 15-cb004nx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a low gamut 60 Hz AU Optronics panel in my laptop and I wanted to upgrade to a 120 Hz High gamut one from Innolux (N156HCE-GA2) but I was afraid of having the screen locked at max brightness as it happened with someone with the same screen for a Dell Inspiron 7567.

Why would that happen? And Does that happen with HP laptops and with my model?

We would have no way to know this. HP would not have experimented with attaching a 120hz panel to this laptop and even if they had they would not have published the results. Unless someone else has actually tried it (unlikely and more unlikely we would reach that person here) there is just no way to give you a good answer. Sorry.
