Pavilion Notebook 15-ab106au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I was just wondering if it is possible to upgrade the processor for this product (HP Pavilion Notebook -15-ab106au), and if so what I need to do to have it upgraded (e.g. take it to an authorised retailer of HP).

Total Memory: 16.00 GB

Processor Name: AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics

Thankyou

Not in any way that would really make economic sense. On your model the processor is soldered to the motherboard so upgrade would require a different motherboard.

Manual

See p. 19. This is the best motherboard:

AMD A10-8700P processor 809408-501

HP does not even have the part available in its store but I would guess the motherboard would be $250-300 if you can find it and labor another $125 minimum so as I said it would not make a lot of sense.
