Hi my HP Pavilon 15-bs158sa is working very slow so I've decided to upgrade RAM memory on it.
At the moment there is 4GB DDR4 RAM 2400Mhz Samsung installed.
I was planing to upgrade it to 12 or 16GB
after long search on internet to find out what type of RAM memory is needed i think i got idea but before buying it I would like to double check with experts if I'm right.
So as I understand it will be better to buy 16GB new memory rather then adding 8GB to existing 4GB?
Is it better to buy 1x16GB or 2x8 ?
does my laptop support higher frequency like 2666Mz or will should I stick to whats installed?
What do you think of these two :
Timetec Hynix IC DDR4 2400MHz PC4-19200 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.2V CL17 2Rx8 Dual Rank 260 Pin SODIMM
Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G26C16S4B 2666 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, Laptop Gaming Memory Kit, 16GB (8GB x2), CL16
Thanks for any advice

Its specs:
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05817137
It has 4GB of RAM now, you can upgrade to
(a) 8GB; add SAME existing RAM to slot 2 or using the following compatible RAM
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct4g4sfs824a/ct11613163
(b) 12GB: (not recommended): add 8GB to slot 2 using the following compatible RAM
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs824a/ct11613175
(c) 16GB (max): install 8GB each to both slots using
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k8g4sfs824a/ct11613134
or https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k8g26c16s4b/ct16753091 (will run at 2400MHz)

Does it mean that higher frequency RAM cards aren't compatible with this laptop? or i can get higher frequency one but its still gonna run at 2400Mhz? And one more question... those cards are 260 pin type right?
Thanks for the reply
