HP 15-r204tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I am looking to Upgrade RAM on HP 15-r204tx Laptop where current RAM is 4GB and i know it has two slots in total to allow upgrade.

Looking for answers to below doubts and questions.

First Question :

Not able to identify the max ram supported on this laptop model , is it 8GB max or 16GB ?

Will like to know this to correctly order my second RAM based on max limit on this laptop.

Second Question:

Current ram on the model is 4GB, 1600MHz, PC3L-12800, DDR3 (SODIMM).

and I can find online few branded RAM's with below details 4GB, 1600MHz, PC3L-12800, DDR3L (SODIMM), but not DDR3.

So Is DDR3 and DDR3L same ? will it work on my laptop if i purchase 4GB, 1600MHz, PC3L-12800, DDR3L (SODIMM).

BR,

Deepak

It has all the information you requested.

You must use DDR3L (1.35V) memory, not DDR3 (1.5V).
