Hello, I need some suggestions and help about upgrading my laptop HP Pavilion - 15-cw0007nm.
I was thinking about upgrading the RAM to 16GB, and my question is: Can I put in both slots KINGSTON SODIMM DDR4 8GB 2666MHz KF426S15IB/8 Fury Impact? Is it compatible with my laptop (processor and everything)?
It currently has in each slot RAM Samsung 4GB 2400 (M471A5244CB0-CRC).
Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 2500U Quad-Core (2 GHz base frequency, up to 3.6 GHz burst frequency, 6 MB cache)
I hope you can help me. Best regards

Well, at the end I decided TO GET KINGSTON FURY IMPACT RAM and I'm coming back with the results!
(because I hope it will be helpful to someone)
It is absolutely possible to put one or two sticks of Kingston Fury Impact RAM in HP Pavilion 15 cw0007nm laptop and I'm pretty sure it works for all laptops from cw series and it probably works with other Pavilion 15 laptops, but you will have to CHECK FIRST. I bought two sticks of RAM 3200MHz version (KF432S20IB_8) because they didn't have the 2666MHz version at that time, but I've checked and that version can work as well. Keep in mind that most modern laptops now support 3200MHz RAM so it can work fully if you decide to put it somewhere else.
I've been using it for two weeks and I had absolutely no problems whatsoever. It is working properly, no screens of death or any issues. It might not work with its best capabilities, as it might work on some gaming laptops, but its absolutely fine (you can see the benchmark). Also, going from 8GB to 16GB is big difference! My laptop is now running like clockwork! I'm using editing programs and I like to keep a lot of tabs open, so if you do similar things you'll appreciate it. As I can see from the results the latency of this RAM is CL15 (15-17-17) in my laptop.
Here are the screenshots of benchmark. I used UserBenchmark and Speecy.

Hi:
I believe that the CL15 timing is too fast.
Your notebook's BIOS may not be able to adjust to the faster timing.

I recommend that if you want to install DDR4-2666 MHz memory, you find a chip with a CL19 timing spec.
This is the standard memory specification that should work in your notebook:
Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA266 | Crucial.com
If you only plan on installing another 8 GB of memory, there is no need to replace the Samsung 8 GB chip.
If Kingston makes a similar chip, that should work fine.
Note that the memory is only going to run at 2400 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's AMD Ryzen™ 5 2500U processor can run the memory at.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

Thank you very much for replaying.
So first, I would like to say that I'm planning to replace both current memories in my laptop with the ones that are 8GB, so I would have in total 16GB.
Second, in which way would it be a problem for my laptop if upgraded memory would have lower latency (CL15)? Can I change it through settings in some way or install some driver for it to adjust?
Also, while I was searching, I found out that current RAM (Samsung) has CL17 which doesn't seem to be such a big change compared to CL15... other specs of Kingston RAM seem to be alright and compatible. And I was expecting it to be working at lower speed 2400MHz because of the processor.
Any respond would be very helpful.
Best regards

You're very welcome.
The BIOS is locked down in your notebook and if the notebook can't automatically adjust to the faster timing, the memory may not work properly (cause blue screens of death), or the notebook may not boot up at all.
The DDR 2666 MHz memory would bridge to 2400 MHz, and the CL19 timing spec would go to CL17.
I have no idea what will happen when the DDR-2666 MHz memory with a CL15 specs slows down to 2400 MHz.
I'm assuming the latency would go from 15 to 13.
I'm just saying I wouldn't do it if I were you.
What I would be doing is to save your money and buy one standard DDR4-2400 memory chip with the CL17 timing spec, add it to the empty slot and it should work fine with the currently installed Samsung memory.
Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM | CT8G4SFS824A | Crucial.com
The only reason I would be replacing both memory chips would be if I wanted to install 2 x 16 GB of memory, which your notebook should support with a Ryzen processor.

Thanks again Paul!
I see your point of view now. Well I'll definitely have to think it through...
Also, unfortunately I couldn't find the exact memory you recommended me in my store, but this is the one that I've found to be the most similar: KINGSTON SODIMM DDR4 8GB 2666MHz KVR26S19S8/8. Would it work fine with my laptop? And would it be compatible with the other Samsung memory?
Best regards

You're very welcome.
Yes, that one should be fine based on the specs.

It will bridge to 2400 MHz, CL17.
This is the same chip in the DDR4-2400 spec:
