What is your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000  ? I use the following machine to answer your question because they are very close specs:

HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC 15-eg0097nr

The manual says the series supports 16GB (2x8GB) max but you can use 32GB or even 64GB. Crucial has the following compatible RAM

       32GB  :   https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k16g32c16s4b/ct19836409

       64GB:     https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k32g32c16s4b/ct19836439

Regards.
