I want to upgrde the RAM on my laptop. Right now I have 8gig. I want to upgrade it to 16gig. The specs on the laptop show that it only has one 8gig module. Two questions -- 1. can it be done? 2. how do I determine the right module to install?
I thought that I could do it by doing a search using either the serial number or the product number -- I didn't have any luck with either.
Thank you for your help.

Lest I forgot to show you how to find out what RAM you got, please type in: cmd in your Windows search bar, left-click on: Run as administrator, then Yes for permission if you're asked, and then copy/paste/enter:
wmic memorychip get partnumber, speed
On the PC I'm using right now, it will show this:
The part number that will show up is what you got, and for best RAM performance, it is recommended to use identical RAM.

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Your HP Pavilion - 15t-Cc500 CTO is fitted with one 8GB RAM stick: Hynix or Micron DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 260-pin with p/n: HMA81GS6AFR8N or MTABATF1G64HZ-2G3B1.
You can add an additional 8GB RAM stick in the empty RAM slot.
I included purchase options for either one.
Kind Regards,
