Just bought this laptop and it works fine but I'm a tinkerer and wanted to know:
- Can upgrade the RAM? I read somewhere (don't know where) that there are two memory slots but memory is not user expandable.
- What would make it not user expandable?

I actually have this model and have installed both a 512 gig M.2 PCIe/NVME M.2 SSD and upgraded the memory to 16 gigs.
Start on p. 38 of the manual:
Don't forget the screws under the rubber feet.
Memory slots are next to the battery and it takes DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM. I found an 8 gig of Samsung OEM DDR4-2400 on ebay for $55 which is a deal right now as memory prices are tending high.
HP classifies this as non-user procedure as it requires removal of the rear cover which does take some coordination and a bit of skill. It is a bit hard to get separated from the upper casing. Use a credit card or other non-marring plastic tool to do so. We are assured by HP that you can remove the back cover for upgrades and HP will not void the warranty. However, any damage or problems caused by your upgrade are on you.
Post back with any questions but please accept as solution if this is the answer you needed.
