I want to upgrade my ram. Can I use 8gb ddr4 2400mhz or 2666mhz in my laptop. Already 4gb ddr4 2133mhz ram installed will both work together?.

Hi:

You can use either, but it will only run at 2133 MHz, which is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

You should be able to install a different model memory chip in there--especially if you can get a Crucial chip.

So I can use ddr 4 8gb 2400mhz or 2600mhz ram with my 4gb 2133 without any problem?

Is this combination good or harmful for my system?

HP Recommended

Yes, you can.

It will not be harmful or cause any problems with your PC.

You can pretend you installed DDR4-2133 memory because that is how it will run.
