I want to upgrade my  Envy  360 13's SSD drive from 256 to 1TB

My SSD is a NVME MZVLV256

I have not taken the back of the computer off yet but online research from late 2016 - CNET - seems to show that this drive is probably   a PCIe 3.0 x 4   M.2 with an "m" key  (NVMe)

I have researched Crucial's web site and haven't found an immediate match but was wondering about their new P1 SSD  as it is NVME rather than SATA.

Also I was looking at Samsung's 970 EVO in the NVME format- certainly a mod. priced NVMe M2 option too.

1st - Can this existing drive be removed ?

2nd - If so would one or both of the above drives be compatable vs other ?

3rd -  Other recommendations?

Thanks

Hi,

At the moment you have a 256GB M2 PCIe NVMe drive (form factor 2280)

You can upgrade the drive to your desired capacity 1TB or more. I believe the drive is a Toshiba PCIe drive. I would upgrade with the Samsung PM 961 which has not shown any incompatibility problems.

On page 25 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade the drive:

Hope it helps,

David
