Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade the SSD on an HP Envy 14-eb0013na. I purchased a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB PCIe NVMe and installed it, replacing the built in 512GB but neither the Windows 10 installer nor the BIOS would recognise it. Is the laptop compatible with 2TB SSDs and if so, are there specific models of PCIe NVMEs I should look to order?
Many thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan
You are trying to clean install Windows. You most likely need to provide the drivers during installation.
There is no limit to the capacity of the M2 SSD
Take a look at this doc and see if it helps

Hope it helps,
David

Thank you for the response but as I mentioned in the original post, the 2TB drive also would not show up in the BIOS. The drive should be visible there whether drivers are available or not so that was not the issue.

I made no changes to the bios as it was right out of the box. I did run through to make sure there were no odd settings that could interfere but everything looked fine - it just wouldn't register that anything was plugged in at all with the Samsung Evo.

All I can think of is to run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI on a USB flash drive while in bios to change the UEFI settings to show the new drive and boot from it. Look in your service guide where it details the procedure.
