I've read that it was possible to upgrade 459263-001 to a card that picks up 2GHz and 5Ghz signal. My original system was 32 bit I coverted it to 64bit. Exchanged 3GB RAM for 8GB RAM. And replaced T5550 Intel 2 cores 1.83 GHz CPU with T9300 Intel 2 cores 2.50 GHz CPU. I purchased my laptop April of 2008 but just recently did upgrades to RAM/32to 64bit/CPU and BIOS F.52 to F.58. . My system info is below. I also have 965 Intel Chipset. Any help? Why or why not is it possible? And is there a work around to connect my laptop to my 5Ghz router's signal?

Hi:
I used this model in my dv6700 that has the AMD processor...
Broadcom 4321AGN 802.11a/b/g/n module:
For use in the United States and Canada: HP Part # 434661-001
There is another part number for use in other countries:
For use in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, Nordic region, and India:
HP Part #434661-002
The Intel cards listed in the service manual for your notebook all require 3 antenna cables, so I don't know how good they will work with only two. If you want to try one of those, you would not connect an antenna to the middle terminal.

The PC has a BIOS whitelist which prevents any card not listed in the service manual from working, and the wifi card you buy must have the HP part number on the card or it will not work.
I don't know why the manual I posted doesn't have the card I used, but like I wrote, mine had an AMD processor, so I cannot guarantee you it would work in yours.
The only place I can think of where you may still be able to find old wifi cards like these is on eBay.

@Paul
No it doesn't work. I have that WLAN card now. I got it off eBay for 10.64. I went ahead and purchased a a couple of wireless network USB adapters. I'm not sure if they'll work. One was real cheap 5.oo and the other has 5GHZ AC 16.00 bucks on ebay . Hopefully one of those works. I haven't seen any HP Manuel specific to my computer dv6835nr. Maybe becuase I purchased it through Best Buy. Still ive got over 11 years usage out of this laptop. It still does what I need it to do. The CPU/ RAM upgrade and SSD helped a lot. 860 EVO 500 GB. Hopefully, I can get a few more years out of it. Throttlestop let's me undervolt it to where my temps are 45 to 50 Celcius while streaming 720 HD video and not using throttlestop with voltage running at max stock it still doesn't go beyond 62 degrees Celcius. Before applying Copper Shims over the GPU/CPU with Attic 4 applied on both sides my max temps were 76 Celcius with the new T9300. Thank you for the info.
