I need to upgrade my memory as well. I will be installing software and virtualization applications. Currently have an 8GB laptop. Is it possible to install 32GB RAM and if so what type of product should I use?

An upgrade to 32GB of installed memory is viable.
Here are some online memory manufacturer sources who guarantee their memory is compatible with your laptop.
For dual channel memory operation it is best practice to install memory modules in identical pairs of compatible memory.
