See page 1. You can only install the 4th series AMD APUs not the third or fifth series.

Your best processor is the AMD A10-4600M and you can also install an A8-4500M

I can't find the AMD a8-5230  specs. All I can find is this series supports the following list of processors, they are all 35W processors:

  • AMD A10-4600M processor (3.2 GHz/2.3 GHz, 1600 MHz/4.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, quad core, 35W) part # 683046-001
  • AMD A8-4500M processor (2.8 GHz/1.9 GHz, 1600 MHz/4.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, quad core,35W) part #  683048-001
  • AMD A6-4400M processor (3.2 GHz/2.7 GHz, 1600 MHz/1.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, dual core, 35W) part #  683047-001
  • AMD A4-4300M processor (3.0 GHz/2.5 GHz, 1600 MHz/1.0 MB L2 cache, DDR3, dual core, 35W) part #  685990-001

Sorry about the mix up it's the 3520m I purchased and installed it is also a 35w tdp processor 4 core 4 thread 64 bit 32nm processor
Problem is when I installed it I didn't get the laptop to boot up at all and I'm almost positive it's compatible with my Mobo just I think I need a newer bios version
The 3520m is the highest grade a series Apu I can go with
