HP Pavilion x360 - 11-k118tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am thinking about upgrading my HP Pavilion x360 - 11-k118tu since its a bit slow. It has 500GB HHD and 4 GB ram.

1. Does this laptop supports M.2 NVME or M.2 SATA?

2. Is M.2 drive bootable? I am thinking about installing OS in M.2 SSD to speed up the laptop.

3. Currently, I have 4 GB ram. Is it possible to upgrade the RAM to 8 GB? Most of the times, my memory usage is around 80% thats why I am considering upgrading the RAM.

4. Often (not always), my laptop screen remains blank when I press the power button to turn on the laptop, Sometimes, It stays blank for few seconds before the screen turns on and the system boots itself but at other times, I have to keep power button pressed to turn off the laptop and then press the power button again and then the laptop boots fine without any blank screen lag. Any suggestions what might be wrong with my laptop?

@Masab_Umair,

Yes. You can use the recovery flash drive created by the HP Recovery Manager to install the OS to the M.2 SSD and use it as your boot drive and then use the original drive as storage.

Opening the notebook and upgrading it will not violate the warranty unless you damage something.    You need to be able to return the notebook to its original hardware configuration in the case of any required warranty repair.

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Many thanks for your response. Is M2 bootable? Can I run windows from M2 while keeping my HDD only for storage?
