Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.

The HDD R & R procedure can be found in chapter 6.

On page 37 do you know how to remove the rubber feet please?. And does it matter that mine dont have a optical drive

You would have to very carefully peel the rubber feet off as written in the instructions.

Remove the bottom cover:

Peel the rubber feet off the bottom of the computer (1).

They have sticky adhesive on the side that makes contact with the case.

Remove the 10 Phillips M2.5×9.0 screws that secure the bottom cover to the computer.

There might be a blank piece of plastic that goes where the optical drive would have gone, and that may have to be unscrewed as if there was a DVD drive there (see page 32).

Would i need a special tool to get them off as my fingers dont seem to be doing it

HP Recommended

They must really be stuck on there then.

Your guess would be as good as mine as to how you are going to pry them off without damaging them.

Maybe use a thin flat blade jeweler's screwdriver.

You need to get something under that rubber without damaging it.

I would think that once you were able to get just a tiny part of the foot to lift up you could grab the rest of it, and peel it back.

Thanks alot for the help its appreciated once i figure it out ill let you know. And once i take the scres of and the ones under the rubber feet should the back just come off easily or would i need

You're very welcome.

Sometimes you need tools to work open the case.

You can use an old credit card to work around the edges, or they sell nylon pry tools to open the case.

You don't want to use a screwdriver to open the case because it will damage/mar the plastic.
