Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I want to upgrade my Notebook hp625 (W10 19044.1865) :
1. Ethernet from 10/100 to 10/100/1000
2. and wifi from /n to /ac or /ax.

Is there any solution, and hp devices, with full compliance ?

Hi:

Unfortunately, you can do neither.

The ethernet adapter is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which blocks the installation of any Wi-Fi card other than one of those listed in chapter 3 of your notebooks service manual from working.

All of the Wi-Fi cards listed in the manual are single band b/g or b/g/n cards only.

The card must also have the HP part number on it, or it will not work.

You may want to look into one of these small dual band AC USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapters.

Thanks a lot.

1. The ac wifi didn't exist in 2009. So it seems normal that it's not mentionned in the manual.
I was hoping that one of the bios upgrades was for dealing with this issue, as well. It sounds like I was wrong!

2. Not enough usb ports on my notebook for usb-wifi adapter. I need all of the three.

Rgds,
