Hello everybody,
I have an HP 15-bs112nl laptop and I need to update ram and disk.
What is the maximum amount of ram supported? 16 or 32 gb?
On the hp's website, it's not possible to find the motherboard specifications and the manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257) is not too clear: it speaks of a maximum of 16GB with banks of 8GB, while the program RAMExpert says 32GB.
In case it was 16 gb, would a single bank of 16 be fine? According to the manual, for i5 and i7 processors the modules can be max 8 gb pc4-2400, but mine is an intel core i8!
I'd also like to add an M.2 ssd(operating systems only) but I have not understood what type and maximum size supported (512 or 256 gb).
In this regard I read that these M.2 ssd reach very high temperature that can damage the rest of the laptop.
Considering that my laptop heats up a lot (during windows automatic downloads, it easily touches 70-75°C and under stress it easily reaches 90°C). Do you recommend it or is it better to replace the disk directly with a classic ssd?

Service Manual:
You need DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM and despite the Manual saying max is 16 gb it is actually 32 gb (2 x 16 gig). So if you want 16 gigs just add another 8 gb module. If you want 32 gigs you need a pair of 16s.
Start on p. 43 to remove the back cover and inside you see this:
RAM slots in red circle M.2 slot in green square
Open the laptop before buying any M.2 SSD to confirm the presence of the M.2 slot. If present the slot only works with SATA M.2 such as this:
The capacity of the M.2 is not limited so you can have up to a 2 TB disk in the M.2 slot.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Thank you Huffer!
As for the high temperatures of M.2 SSD can you tell me something?
To optimize the computer's start-up time and the opening of programs, do you recommend replacing the old hard disk with a classic ssd or adding an M.2?

By classic SSD I assume you mean a 2.5 inch SATA SSD the size and shape of a hard drive? A SATA M.2 and a SATA 2.5 inch SSD will perform about the same. The key is having the OS and boot files on the SSD. That's the way to speed it up.
