Upgrading laptop HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook with Windows Vista OS to Windows 7

Pavilion dv6
Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)

I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade 7 Advisor for upgrading from Vista.  Advisor recommends getting updates to following programs:

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

HP MediaSmart DVD
version 2.1.2328
Hewlett-Packard

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

HP Total Care Setup
version 1.1.2413.2876

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
version 3.10.1.7

I am having difficulties determine what is the updated versions of these programs.  Please advise.

Thank you

Hi:

Here is the W7 version of the HP MediaSmart DVD software...

4.2.4701

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50935.exe

ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection for W7...

4.0.3.1 Rev. A

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45501-46000/sp45501.exe

I believe this software supercedes the total care advisor software...suggest you uninstall the previous version first.

IMO, this software is not necessary for your PC to function correctly.

This package provides an updated version of the HP Advisor Software for the supported PC models and operating systems. The HP Advisor Software provides easy-to-use one-stop-access to software, services, solutions, and support from HP and its partners.

3.4.12850.3526 Rev. E

Thanks Paul for the recommendation.  I prematurely clicked resolved.  I will try them out and confirm whether it resolved my issues or not.  Would you please clarify whether Total Care Setup is part of Total Care Advisor?

I've been doing further research and it appears that I can function without Total Care Setup as well.  Thanks again--much appreciated!
