Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Pavilion x360 14m-cd0003dx. I bought 2x8gb of RAM and Crucial MX500 1TB. I wanna turn my laptop into something that can handle a lot of abuse (some games, 3D blueprints for fabrication welding, etc) 

I know you guys are probably saying "just get a better laptop" but I genuinely like learning new things and having some late night projects for my restless mind.

 

So I was wondering if the Motherboard L12079-001 4g i7-8550u would fit in the laptop I have and if not, what model of i7 processor motherboard will?

Below is the link to the service manual.

Chapter 3 has the list of supported motherboards with their HP part numbers.

 

I don't see a motherboard with a  L12079-001 part number.

 

Also bear in mind that unless you buy a motherboard with a part number that ends in 601, it will not have a Windows product key and you will have to buy a new license for Windows.

 

Your notebook came with the onboard Intel graphics, so upgrading the motherboard to one that has the Nvidia graphics adapter would also require you to buy the fan/heatsink assemblies for discrete adapters.

 

Where you will be able to find the motherboard/heatsink you want and, unfortunately, I would have no idea.
