Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there!

I wish to upgrade my pre-installed ram which is 4GB for my HP 15-r201ne laptop, from 4GB to 8GB or 16GB.

Here is a few details on my laptop:

Processor: Intel Core i3-4005U (1.7 GHz)

Memory: 4GB

i am confuse on choosing, but before i buy i want to be guided because these are not cheap items. Please help me select the ram that fits my product.

1.)  What is the maximum total ram i can install?

2.) Does my mother board support  single or dual slot for ram?

3.) If Dual, which should be better to install? 2x4GB ram or 2x8GB Ram? or a single 8GB or 16GB?

4.) Is my pre-installed ram 1Rx8 or 2Rx8? if my existing is 1R8 4GB ram? does this matter if i pair the 1rx8 4GB ram with 2r8 4GB ram? Because i hardly found 1Rx8 on the market, i always see 2Rx8.

5.) if my existing ram is 1rx8, will my mother board support if i buy and install a 2rx8 ram? which will work for me? 1Rx8 or 2Rx8?

5.) Which one would i follow? The manual says PC3L-12800 (1600MHz), but CPU-Z says my ram is PC3-12800(800 MHz) 1.35V? i'm confused which one is to follow PC3 or PC3L?

6.) I've seen on the market, 12800S. what does the "S" means? does this matter if my existing is 12800 only?

According the manual there appears to be only 1 slot so you will need to replace the existing 4 with an 8

L= low power which is the same as 1.35V

the s simply indicates that this is SO-DIMM
