Hi!

I hope the person reading this is having a nice day

I am here because I want to upgrade my laptop to full specs, specifically the RAM and the storage. According to the manual, I can only upgrade the RAM to 16GB of DDR4-2133MHz. However, I am wondering if I can install 32GB of the same model (DDR4-2133MHz) or, if possible, use 32GB of DDR4-2400MHz. When I run the command "wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices" in CMD, it shows the following:

MaxCapacity               MemoryDevices
33554432                   2

I understand this as supporting 32GB across 2 slots (16GB per module).

Regarding storage, the manual says it supports PCIe NVME. I have confirmed this by opening the laptop and seeing the NVME port. I am considering installing a 1TB Kingston NV2 NVME 4x4, alongside a Kingston SA400 (250GB SATA III) and a mechanical disk (320GB TOSHIBA SATA III) using an HDD caddy instead of the CD reader.

I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you for reading this 😄

Its specs;        https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05310196

1. For RAM:  you can upgrade to 32GB using compatible RAM such as

Crucial 32GB RAM Kit             (Ram will run at 2133 MHz)

2. STORAGE: Firstly NVMe PCIe 4x4 won't work at its speed on your machine.  You can replace its existing HDD using 1TB or 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD. Replacing ODD using 2.5" HDD (inside a caddy) is a joke, it may run much much slower.

Regards.

😄
