So I would like to upgrade my pc so it will preform better and do things it can't currently do with the Intel Pentium CPU 2020M processor. My current specs are 16 GB of ram (I know on the this website it can only handle a max of 8, but I can confirm that's complete bs been running 16 for two years with no issues) I don't know what else would help. Any other questions about it just ask. I really just want to know what other and better processors should/would be compatable, then I'll have a professional whos done work on my PC before install it.

Here's the Service manual:
Look at page 2. There are 2 different Intel motherboards. One has the HM75 chipset and supports i3/i5 CPUs and the other (yours) is the HM70 chipset and only supports Pentium and Celeron CPUs. You have the 2020M which is the second best and the only thing better is the 2030M as far as Pentium processors. Only a .1 ghz difference and not worth the trouble or expense of an upgrade.
Even if you replaced the motherboard so you could install the best available i5, it would be a subtle improvement and you could not do much more, if anything, with the computer.
