My new SSD cam in the mail this morning! What steps do I need to take before removing the old SSD and installing the new one?

Then what do I need to do after turning my computer back on with the new SSD installed?

@Echo547

I normally do to upgrade to a larger (capacity) drive:

(a) Clone existing old drive to new drive using USB-M.2 adapter

(b) Replace old with new.

Regards.

I don't have an adapter.  Can you send me a link for the right adaptor? Or are they all the same?

Also, if I purchase the adapter, can I then use the old ssd as an external storage device?
