Can I change the GTX950m graphics card for some think with more capacity, say a GTX1060. I want to tether the laptop to an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset with link software but need a better graphics card to do so.

Hi:
The graphics adapter is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with better graphics.

This is almost always a very expensive upgrade project and usually not worth it.

Ok , not the news I wanted but thanks for the advice.
The question is actually for my son who is looking to move on with more advanced gaming mainly in the VR field running one of the Oculus headsets. Do you have any advice regarding the most cost effective computer purchase (laptop preferably) that could accommodate this?
