I am currently using an HP Pavillion x360 Convertible Laptop from 2018. It has an Intel Core i3 8th Generation processor. And it has come with 1TB SSHD from HP. Now, I wish to upgrade my boot drive from 1 TB SSHD to either a 250GB or 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD. As per the maintenance manual, it states that an M.2 NVMe is supported, but will it work with any M.2 NVMe SSD's on the market?, and which capacity should I opt for? Will the SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS, which is an M.2 NVMe SSD work with my system?
And also, I wish to upgrade my RAM from 4GB (which is given), to its max capacity of 12GB as specified by HP. But, as per my online research, I have come to find that using one 4GB and one 8GB RAM could be harmful or the full capacity will not be utilized by the system. So, what should I do with regard to this?

Samsung 970 EVO series should work but the following product is compatible guaranteed from Crucial
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/pavilion-x360-14-cd0050tx/CT14550620
For RAM, you can use 2 x 8GB using following RAM
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/pavilion-x360-14-cd0050tx/CT14550667
With 16GB, system may crash (very rare) due to overflow. It is safer to use 12GB as from manual because it cache is only 8GB.
Regards.
