Hi, I have an old laptop from 2014. The model number is - HP 15-R078TU. It comes with an Intel Pentium processor, and I wish to continue to use this laptop. I wish to upgrade the processor from Pentium to something new, like the Intel Core i3, Core i5, or the i7 (9th Generation) CPU. I would like to know if this upgrade is possible, and which one of the three would be a good option for me?

Your machine use Intel Bay Trail M processor (2.16 GHz, up to 2.58 GHz Intel Pentium N3530 with Intel HD Graphics). its specs

The processor is soldered to the system board and the following manual (page 66) shows you a list of system boards you can use (definitely no 9th generation)
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04409502.pdf
Note: You have to pay for new system board which has
(a) Motherboard,
(b) CPU / Processor
(c) eGPU if available
(d) New Windows license
Because all 4 (or 3) above components are on one piece of hardware called system board.
Regards.

Okay, I have seen the list of accepted system boards, and if I wish to purchase one of the following:-
Intel Core i5-4210U processor and 2 GB of discrete graphics - 760970-501
Intel Core i7-5500U processor and 2 GB of discrete graphics - 795814-501
From where can I buy one of them?
