I have an HP pavilion model 15-r006tu serial CND4192F04. I want to upgrade my ram but only one of the two slots is working. It currently has 2gb ram. I want to know what's the maximum ram I can put in that one working slot? And what would be the specs of the ram ram I'd have to buy?

Thanks

Hi,

You can put max 8GB in each slot for a total (normally) of 16GB.

So, what you need is an 8GB module of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM

You can purchase from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung...

On page 76 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM:

Another upgrade you could consider is replacing the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD for a boost to the everyday performance of the PC.

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks I was thinking the same after referring to the service manuals. However the hp service centre technicians I spoke to in my area said each slot supports only a max of 4gb for a total of 8gb. So I'm a bit confused there.

Well, the technician is wrong.  Max RAM is 16GB.

David
