Hello, my laptop is  the Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0032dx. I want to upgrade my laptop's storage from 512 GB to 2 TB and RAM from 16 GB to 32 GB (if possible, up to 64 GB). Can anyone tell if my laptop is capable of it? I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi:

The Crucial memory/SSD report for your notebook indicates what you want to do is possible.

Below is the link to the service teardown video:

Before installing 64 GB of memory, I would assess the need for that much by checking the memory usage in the Windows Resource monitor app.

See how much free memory your PC currently has with 16 GB installed.

If you're close to 50%, then 32 GB should be more than enough.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Memory and M.2 SSD access for upgrade is a customer authorized procedure so no warranty concerns. See p. 32 for instructions.

Uses an NVME M.2 SSD. HP only offered up to 1 TB but a 2 TB would work fine. It accepts the newer faster Gen 4 PCIe type SSDs. So this is an example of what would work:

For memory the specs say 16 gb is the max but I believe it will run at least 32 gigs. You can confirm the max capacity with a prompt entered into the command line:

To check the maximum RAM capacity of your Windows 11 computer using the command line, open Command Prompt or PowerShell and run the command wmic memphysical get maxcapacity. The result will be displayed in kilobytes; to convert it to gigabytes, divide the value by 1024 twice (e.g., 33554432 KB / 1024 = 32768 MB, 32768 MB / 1024 = 32 GB).

The memory it uses is DDR4-3200 So-DIMM. Get standard oroginal equipment type modules such as these:
