pavilion 15

hi

 

i have hp pavilion 15 pe210ne model with i5(5200U) Ram 6GB , is it possible to upgrade ram to 12 gb or 16gb and increasing of ram have to increase significant improvement?

 

hp support assistant informations show:

2 slot for ram

slot 1 : hynix 2gb 1600 mhz

slot 2 : kingstone 1600 mhz

Hi,

 

First, I believe you have posted the wrong model number. I believe your model is 15-p200ne and not 15-pe200ne

 

The max RAM is 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz (2x8GB)

 

Make sure you buy DDR3L  and not DDR3. There are two slots and you can buy RAM from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung ...

 

On page 81 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM.

You can also take a look at these HP videos for that model which can help with upgrade:

The improvement depends on what kind of programs you use. I would say 8GB is good for everyday use. Now, an upgrade which would greatly improve everyday performance would be to replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD such as the Samsung 860evo.
