I purchased a new HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa1278TX ( i5-13420H, 2100 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s), 16GB RAM, 512 GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD, NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU (6 GB)). The current storage is 512GB, and I want to upgrade to 2TB. Is it possible? If I upgrade to 2TB, will the laptop have any performance issues?

You should be able to replace the existing drive with any capacity NVMe you want as long as the drive is single sided.
The Crucial SSD report indicates they sell NVME 4 x 4 SSD's up to 4 TB.

HP only has the service manual for the older model series available.

I can't think of any reason why installing a larger capacity drive would present any performance issues.

Hi, you informed me that the HP Victus 15-fa1278TX internal storage can be upgraded ( replaced) with up to 2TB, as long as it's a single-sided drive. However, both the local HP World store and the HP technical support team have told me that the maximum SSD upgrade ( replacement) for any HP Victus series is 1TB, and it cannot be upgraded (replaced) with 2TB.
Kindly reply me.

Hiu:
I gave you the Crucial memory report which indicates that they sell NVMe SSDs up to 4 GB.
The drive capacities are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.

If you want to play it safe, install a 1 TB SSD.
