I got a HP Elitebook 8460P from a pawn shop for a fair price. I also have an Asus K53E having Intel Core i7 2670QM CPU which doesnt work due to faulty motherboard. I did some research and found out that both the laptops have removable CPUs. I am thinking of removing the i7 from the asus and using it with HP. Is it compatible with my laptop?
Is upgrading the CPU worth my efforts and time and will it improve the performance significantly?

Please check the chip set first using the following manual (pp 1-2):

hey,
i dropped the idea of upgrading the CPU of my notebook but have another query. I want to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop but don't have any recovery discs or any other drives. Where can I get the genuine Windows 7 Pro OA ISO?

Microsoft dropped Windows 7 few years back and Windows 10 in very near future. I do not any official source. There is a link on the following post
Please try at your own risk.
