Hello,
So, I am thinking about upgrading the RAM in my laptop because my laptop is super slow, it freezes too often, and its very frustrating. Upgrading the RAM is more affordable right now then buying a new laptop. I just need help with choosing the right RAM that will be compatible with motherboard and processor and all that other stuff. My computer info is down below. Any and all help is very much appreciated and thank you in advance!! 🙂

If the laptops freezes and you have to reboot there is a hardware problem.
I recommend you get an identical memory stick to the one you have. A used memory is fine.
An easy way to find what memory you have is to run the wmic app from the windows command prompt. Bring up the window 'cmd' prompt and enter the first line to set what memory you have. The second line may give the maximum memory possible based on the chipset. The number of memory sockets limit what can be added.
wmic memorychip get devicelocator, capacity, speed, MemoryType, formfactor, partnumber, manufacturer |
wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx, MemoryDevices |
Should look something like the following. To purchase identical memory search for the part number shown and look for the letters 'HP' on any label attached to the memory stick.
