Hi,

I had purchased this laptop a while back and it came with 2 Tera-bytes of 5400rpm HDD storage. I would like to have an SSD as my boot drive. I would like to know whether my Laptop supports M.2 drives, and if it does, which one should I buy.(NVME or SATA)

My specifications are

i5 8250U

8gb ram

Radeon 530 tm

Also, I would like to have my original HDD alongside the new SSD, but I have read that these laptops only support dual storage configurations like

- 128gb SSD + 1TB HDD

- 256gb SSD + 1 TB HDD

But since my original HDD is a 2TB drive, can I still have it alongside the SSD?

Thanks in advance

I don't know what is your HP 15g-br1xx. As you say, it has Intel core processor therefore from manual of the series (page 3) you can have dual storage option with M.2 SATA SSD + 2.5" HDD.

The limit for capacity of a drive is huge but due to physical size you can use up to 2TB of M.2 SSD plus 2 TB of 2.5" HDD. That means you can keep existing 2TB 2.5" HDD and add up to 2TB of M.2 SATA SSD to your machine.

Regards.
