Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone! First time poster here. Got a bit of a question. So, I got this laptop originally for "college," but wanted to game on it also. Well, it comes with the system board with the GTX1650 GPU. I was reading the service manual, and there's other boards you can buy with better GPUs, but with the same Intel i5-12450H processor. I was curious if I could purchase the board with the same i5-12450H processor, but has the RTX3050 Ti GPU and install it, would it work? I wouldn't see why not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Normally on system boards on the manual should work on your machine BUT you may need a different PSU/charger depending on the chosen GPU.

Regards.

It would work .This is the board you would want. Its the i7 version with RTX 3050 graphics:

N13290-601

this part number is the i5-12450H CPU version:

N15767-601

If you were going to do this there is no reason not to also go for the top processor. The i7 board would not cost much more than the i5 and either would fit and work.

Here is the Service Manual:

Not sure you appreciate how expensive this project is likely to be. Any of the boards listed in the Manual would fit in and work in your laptop. They will be hard to locate. HP does not have any in the part store. You might find it through amazon or eBay. Search by HP Part number. If you have to pay someone to do the upgrade figure at least $5-600 parts and labor, maybe much more. Good luck.
