I want to upgrade the storage to 2tb. Which fast samsung drives will it support?
i looked at Samsung 980 Evo plus 2 tb, samsung 990 pro 2 tb. Will these drives be supported by this laptop?

Yes, either the Samsung 980 Pro or 990 Pro 2 TB drives should work fine.
According to chapter 1 of the service manual, PCIe Gen 4 x 4 NVMe SSD's are supported:
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The drive capacities listed in the manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.

Thank you for the advice. This will be helpful.
the local Hp support office had no idea if the laptop will support 2TB upgrade and adviced me too find out myself. Felt like why did i moved from ASUS to HP.
also, they told me even if i purchase the hard disk outside(which i will have to because they only have 512 GB with them), if i do not get it replaced from them (the authorised service centre) the warranty will be lapsed. Is this true? Because they are asking two working days to replace the drive.

You're very welcome.
The Crucial SSD report for the model series indicates they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB.

Warranty:
Since this is a peer-to-peer forum and we don't work for or represent HP, we are not authorized to write on their behalf regarding the warranty terms and conditions.
Chapter 5 of the service manual indicates HP wants any work done by an authorized service center.
Off the record many HP forum members upgrade their PC's with the understanding that:
If they break anything in the process of performing any work inside the notebook, the warranty would probably become void.
If the notebook ever needs warranty service, it must be returned to its original hardware configuration before sending it in for warranty work.
The authorized HP service center will probably charge a considerable amount of money to do the work.
Here's a service teardown video for the model if you want to watch it to see if you can do the work yourself:
