15-bs015dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to upgrade my 1 TB HDD that came with my 15-bs015dx notebook to an SSD. So I read about what kind of SSD's are supported on the Maintenance and Service Guide specific to my notebook series. And I found out that M.2 SSD's are supported.

Regarding the installation, it says "You can install an M.2 solid-state drive into the hard drive bay using an adapter bracket and connector board." Are these parts already there inside my notebook? Or are they inside the models that already came with an SSD? it also says (under the product description section) that there is an M.2 slot for SSD.

I am a bit confused about where exactly should I connect the SSD, and what parts I need to do this upgrade, other than the SSD itself.

I appreciate any help since this would be my first upgrade.

The specs of your machine is:

No, that slot is already for 1TB 2.5" HDD. You can replace 2.5" HDD with above adapter but for what, it won't give you anything more after paying $$$.

Your machine does NOT have native M.2 slot for storage therefore the best option is to upgrade 2.5" HDD to 2.5" SSD using Crucial MX500, BX500 or Samsung 860/850 EVO or similar . For example: the following compatible drive
