Hi, everyone.
I was planning on upgrading my laptop to a SSD but while checking the service manual I found that there was no support for it. I mean, if you go to page 2 you'll see it on lists 32 and 24 GB mSATA models, which is very low.
The same if you go to the Mass Storage Device section on page 24. You'll see that only a 24-GB mSATA is listed. So does that means that I can not install any other SSD of greater size?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
This series of laptops actually has 3 storage bays/slots. The first one is M.2 SATA with 24GB, and two other bays/slots for HDD's or SSD's. My 2015-2016 loan laptop was an HP 17t-j100 with Leap Motion.
The M.2 SATA is for cache or for Intel RST . You have to disable it first before you can install M.2 SSD
Notre: I have not tested this because the old loan machine was donnated to charity.
You can install normal 2.5" SSD to HDD1, but after this, no point to keep cache drive.
Regards.
