Hi does anyone know if its possible to take the DVD drive out of this laptop and upgrade it to a Blu Ray drive ?

Yes it is. You can reuse the mounting caddy and faceplate.

No your laptop uses the 9.0 mm thickness optical drives. Hard to tell the difference between 9.0 and 9.5 but a 9.5 will not fit in a 9.0 slot.

9mm are quite a bit harder to locate.
